Ekhanei.com and OLX.com.bd to join forces Naspers Limited, Schibsted Media Group and Telenor Group announced a joint venture to build Bangladesh’s most vibrant and customer friendly online classified destination. The transaction is part of a larger partnership agreement to join forces in selected emerging markets.

The venture in Bangladesh will be 50.3% owned by SnT Classified (a equal shareholding joint venture between Schibsted and Telenor), the parent company of ekhanei.com and 49.7% owned by Naspers, the parent company of OLX.com.bd The new company would continue to operate under the Ekhanei.com name and will bring great benefits to the people of Bangladesh.

Joining the platform will make it faster and easier than ever for sellers to turn items into cash. They will be able to choose from a wider selection of items and be more successful in selling their own items to a larger audience of buyers. The frequent users of both platforms don’t need to worry: all ads will be at the same place.

OLX users will not have to repost their ads, as they will be migrated to ekhanei.com. The ease of inserting an ad for free will be maintained. By coming together, the business will also be able to share costs, expertise and people to more effectively build awareness of the benefits of a vibrant online classified offering to consumers.
