Music blazing from the stage, stalls been decorated with products of their respective merchants and organizations, visitors are wandering about, some in front of the stage listening to music, others checking out different stalls. This is the scenario of the second day of the Bangladesh Internet Week which is being held at Banani Society field in Dhaka.

The festival is attracting visitors from all walks of life, including youths, some of whom are university and college students. One visitor, Hasan, a university student, said, "I am seeing a lot of things after coming to the Internet Week. I am learning about various internet services that I didn't have any knowledge about before."

Another visitor, Raihan, a BUET student, expressed disappointment with the festival. "It looks nothing like what I thought it would be. It could've been a lot better. So many things to learn about the internet that we could've learned here."

Rubel, an Android app development professional, says, "Even though it is a festival about Internet, I haven't noticed any stall of a single ISP. And except for Grameenphone, no other mobile telecom operators or WiMAX service providers seem to be present with stalls."

Anamika, a class-five student, came to the festival with her parents. She said, "If feels good to be able to come to a festival like this for the first time. I saw drones in the fair. Before this, I only saw drones on TV."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Internet Week via video conference yesterday.

The celebrated Bangladesh National Cricket team is scheduled to arrive late in the evening at the event. After the end of the Dhaka festival, events will be held at Rajshahi Nakkin Dobar Hall on September 9, at Sylhet City Indoor Stadium on September 11, with intermission on 8th and 10th September in between. The festival will continue till September 11 in union digital centers all across the country.
