The Seedstars World competition was held for the first time in Bangladesh thanks to collaboration  between BASIS and Seedstars World. The initiative was powered by International Trade Center of United Nation and BD Venture Limited, and activated by Betterstories Ltd. and Preneurlab. The final round of the competition was held on 14th November, Saturday and Madviser won the ticket to participate in the Seedstars World final round in Switzerland.

On the final day, 17 startups, divided into the categories FinTech, TravelTech, and StarTech, pitched their ideas to the judging panel in hopes of winning the first place. The jury panel consisted of Katarina Szulenyiova, Regional Manager for Asia, Seedstars World, Martin Labbé, Senior Officer for International Trade Centre, Iraj Islam, Co Founder of Newscred, Sajid Rahman, Director of Founder Institute, Dhaka, Shameem Ahsan, President of BASIS and Shawkat Hossain, Managing Director of BD Ventures.

Madviser, with its app for comparing telco offers, won the final round and a chance to participate in the final round of Seedstars World which will be held in SwissTech Convention Centre in Lusan, Switzerland to be held during March next year.

"The main objective of arranging Seedstars World is to provide the young entrepreneurs with a platform for global innovation including Silicon Valley, and successful international expansion of their companies."

HandyMama and Track My Vehicle were selected as the runner ups while Shopfront Social won the ITC Award for Women Entrepreneurs. Tech Cafe, a startup that focuses on tech education for children, won special awards courtesy of the Swiss Embassy. Evolysis won Tk. 50,000 in seed money from BD Ventures. Two other startups: Pathao- a logistics startup, and Dhaka Rides- a carpooling service, were awarded a full scholarship by Founder Institute and access to the Techsoi Accelerator program respectively.

Shameem Ahsan, President of BASIS, stated at the award ceremony: "The main objective of arranging Seedstars World is to provide the young entrepreneurs with a platform for global innovation including Silicon Valley, and successful international expansion of their companies.  BASIS has been working towards building an innovative entrepreneurship ecosystem in Bangladesh in coordination with its partner companies including Fenox Venture Capital and Seedstars. We aim to help the winners of this competition developing the next Google and Facebook from Bangladesh. "

His Excellency Christian Martin Fotsch, Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh,was also present at the event.
