Smartphone users frequently face the problem of their device’s battery draining out quickly. Many carry a power bank while travelling long distances but most find carrying a power bank all the time a hassle. With this in mind, Edison Group has launched its new Symphony Xplorer H175 smartphone in the market. The H175 comes with a powerful 4000 mAh battery which will ensure long battery backup.

The new Xplorer looks like any other smartphone: it’s no different in terms of design. On the right side, there is the volume button and  the power button. There are no buttons on the left side. Charging and audio ports are located at the top; there are no ports at the bottom. Although you can remove the phone’s back cover, the battery is non-removable. There are two SIM slots and a microSD card slot. The back cover is made of plastic but the right and left sides are metallic. The top and bottom parts are non-metallic.

The 5 inch IPS display has HD resolution with a PPI of 293.72. The display is actually pretty good, considering the H175 is a budget phone. Because of its sharp screen feature, you will have no problems using it under direct sunlight. Along with a bright display the phone also has a decent viewing angle. You can control display features like auto brightness and rotation from the phone’s 'Settings' option. Because of its big screen size, watching a movie or playing a game becomes more enjoyable with the H175.

The H175 has 2 GB RAM and a 64 bit quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. The device uses Mali-T720 MP2 processor for better graphics experience and also has 16GB internal storage which can be extended up to 32GB with an external microSD card.

The overall performance of the phone is quite good. Games like Temple Run and Fruit Ninja requiring average graphics can be run easily without any lag. However, users can run into some difficulty while playing games requiring better graphics. You will also notice that the battery heats up rarely. There are also no lag problems while running audio or video clips. Multiple applications can also run simultaneously in the background without any problem.

These days, a lot of people buy a smartphone just for the camera. The H175 has a pretty decent camera considering it’s a budget phone. It has a 13 megapixel camera with up to 4X zoom option and an on-camera flash for taking pictures at night. The camera also has HDR, Beauty Face, Panorama, Smile Shoot and Multi Angle View features.

You can also take good quality selfies with the H175 as it is fitted with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera.

The phone runs on Lollipop 5.1 and has all the necessary software installed. These include, File Manager, Clean Master, Office, Google Music and other Google apps. The user interface and icons are identical to previous Symphony models. You can also make or receive calls and click pictures while the screen is locked.

The device has a 4000 mAh battery which will provide long battery backup. You can talk on the H175 for 15 hours at a stretch and watch videos or browse for 7-8 hours straight. However, heavy internet usage will drain the battery faster.

The Symphony Xplorer H175 is selling for BDT 10,490 in local market. You can buy the H175 from Bashundhara City or other mobile phone shops with a 1 year warranty.
