Bill Passed to Promote Technology Trade in Bangladesh
In the spirit of integrating digital technology into businesses in Bangladesh, a session was held at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University on Sunday where the national parliament pass the Bangladesh bill 2016.
Students with science backgrounds who have passed their intermediate board exams will now have the opportunity get their undergraduate and/or postgraduate degrees in biotechnology, nanotechnology, advanced technology, hardware and software engineering and digital technology from the university.
The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University will be hosting various online courses. Along with education and research, in the spirit of promoting more digital technology related businesses, the university will have a Business Incubator Centre as per the bill to encourage more entrepreneurs in Bangladesh.The chancellor of the university will be the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Like other public universities, there will be a VC, teachers and staff as part of its operation.
The purpose of this bill is to promote world class technological innovation and to make the application of advanced technologies more widespread Bangladesh, said the Education Minister, Nurul Islam Nahid. The ministry of education has taken the initiative to establish this university in the Gazipur district.
