Now You Can Have a Verified Twitter Account Too
Do you know Twitter’s blue tick badge that’s only reserved for public figures or celebrities? You can have that blue tick on your profile now too.An application form is now available online for everyone as long as the applicant is willing to provide various pieces of information including a verified phone number, e-mail address, and website and must exclusively post public tweets. The applicants will also have to prove that their account is of public interest and have newsworthiness or carries relevance in their field. In a blog post, VP of user services at Twitter, Tina Bhatnagar said, “Our goal with this update is to help more people find great, high-quality accounts to follow, and for creators and influencers - no matter where they are in the world to easily connect with a broader audience.”Currently, Twitter has only 187,000 verified users out of approximately 320 million users. With this new implementation, there's surely going to be a lot more verified accounts on Twitter to be followed for various updates and content.
