Nokia is coming back to the smartphone game and is launching its new line up in 2017. Nokia confirmed this news at the Capital Markets Day event. The Finnish company will be announcing the details of its new smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2017. Nokia's commercial licenses have been acquired for the next decade by HMD Global.

The new smartphones won't be manufactured by Nokia but the company will be overseeing the production of the handsets though. The phones will be made by HMD Global in collaboration with Foxconn.

HMD Global, the company making the new line of phones will be spending  at the least €500 million to promote the upcoming handsets, so maybe Nokia may be making a solid comeback? It's good to be hopeful right?industry pie.

James Rutherfoord, CEO of mobile device commodities at Microsoft Asia said that we can expect two smartphones from Nokia next year.

Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's mobile division had a disastrous outcome, maybe if Nokia plays it right in this second chance they're getting, they could come back dominating or at the least competing with the top brands in the smartphone game.
